Is there an easier way to report an Ebay scammer?

I've found an obvious Ebay scammer..

The vehicles he has for sale are fake and don't really exist. Checking the DVLA website shows that they don't recognise the reg numbers on the first 3 Mercedes cars they have for sale. I got suspicious when I saw the seriously underpriced T5 Transporter. Even if the engine was completely knackered, it would still be worth around £15K with a brand new camper conversion. DVLA shows it hasn't been MOT's or Taxed since last year.

All I could find via Ebay to report the cretin, was their online chat thing. I wasted 15 minutes on this before I lost my patience. By this time, I'd been put through to the wrong department 4 times and ended up back where I started. (I wont bore you with the trancscript).

Surely there's an easier way to report him? The scam will obviously be that he'll demand deposit at auction end then disappear.

Edit - after looking again, I've found the "report item" now so have reported all 5 of his listings. The reg numbers of all but the T5 don't even register with the DVLA.

It's also worth noting his only feedback (he was the buyer) is over a year ago and it's from a van seller with a campervan as the avatar... looks like he might have bought that camper, or a part for it, and is now selling it again. This makes it less likely to be a hijacked account.

Ah, I was putting Mercedes-Benz as a manufacturer. Still think they are dodgy listings though. The T5 would be worth around £15K.

5 vehicles for sale, no mention of MOT and no feedback.

It's an auction that hasn't finished yet. It can go higher. Why do you think a 200k mile camper with a fucked engine is worth 15k when others are going for almost half the price with a good engine?

Then maybe it will fetch what it's worth at auction... still 24 hours left. Not exactly unusual to put something in auction with the starting price set at less than you're expecting it to end up at (!).

Putting his mobile into google shows another advert on 9 November for a tipper truck.

I'm not saying it's definitely legit but there's no firm evidence this is a scam IMO. eBay might think the same and keep the auctions active despite your complaints. You based it mainly on the vehicles not existing on a DVLA search but that turned out to be your screw up...

Until ebay locks his account, he can't sell a vehicle, mortgage payments lapse, kids starve, Serious Fraud Office kicks the door in and takes all the vehicles away, house is repossessed, family ends up eating out of bins at the back of KFC, and so on...

The seller has been an Ebay Member apparently since 1/1/11 and even though he has never bought or sold anything ever, has a feedback score of 1. Sounds very fishy to me.

Maybe he opened an account and then didn't use it. Might seem odd to you as you clearly spend every waking moment on there being the fucking eBay police

Classified ads don't generate feedback, so maybe as a vehicle dealer he uses that listing option more?

The usual crap. The van apparently had an MOT a couple of weeks ago even though the DVLA list it as expiring in June. It's located in the Highlands of Scotland, so nobody tries to view it first.
When questioned about the MOT date, this is the reply I got... The same scam appears once a week, it's probably the same moron.
They ask you to pay through Paypal pretending you get buyer protection, on the promise they deliver. Paypal Buyer Protection does not include vehicles.
