basically as the title suggests i think i may have some air in the system on my bike (2009 honda cbr 125) .

when i press my foot on it (back brake) there is hardly any feel in it , its like a switch either on or off and also when i have the back brake on when i'm on a hill it will start to roll back and make a creaking noise untill i apply more pressure too it , but if i use the front brake its fine and the front has plently of feel in it.

so i'm wondering if there is air in the system or if some parts may need replacing .

any help is much appreciated many thanks .

The way to check would be to try and bleed the system, do you know how to do this?

EDIT- is there fluid in your reservoir?

Sounds more like a seized calliper to me. Air in a braking system either manifests itself by excessive lever/pedal travel, or a 'spongy' feel to the pedal movement.

well what happens is when you press it nothing really happens then press it a tiny bit more and you can feel it slowing but sometimes it locks on , quite dangerous tbf

Sounds like a piston sticking. Never mind bleeding, give your caliper and pistons a good clean and inspection.

Are they the slide type brakes were you have pistons just on one side? Sometimes the sliding part can get stuck.

I took the "having no feel" to be kinda spongey (?).

Undo the probably 2 bolts that hold your caliper on, get the pads off and spray brake cleaner in and give it a scrub with a toothbrush, that's my method of sorting mucky pistons. Chuck a block of wood in there and pump the piston a bit to see a shiny bit, clean the rest up to look that nice.

If it feels like an on/off switch, it's sticking. The rear caliper on the CBR125 is a traditional single piston sliding caliper, so there are lots of bits that can wear or seize. The whole things needs a strip down and clean, including removing the piston and seal and scraping out any corrosion from under the seal.
