Then get an A license?
Straight from the 3DLD, A1 lets you drive/ride "motor tricycles with a power not exceeding 15 kW". No limit on capacity, no power-to-weight bollocks.
Sadly, the (deep breath) 2014 'Piaggio MP3 Yourban LT 300IE' claims about 17kW so you'd 'need' to get it restricted a tiny bit.
That's if it's a 'motor tricycle', and if you can't 'drive' it on car entitlement any more. I really can't tell from Piaggio's execrable Nathan-Barleyesque excuse for a website, or bring myself to care. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I've only had my A1 for about 10 months, so I'd have to retake the theory too and I detest the tests, I get incredibly nervous about tests. I fcuk'd up my mod 1 twice simply due to nerves. but as I was taking it on my own 125 £15 is reasonable, if I was on a school 600 the cost would make me even more nervous.

I have A1 so I should be able to ride the 125 model rgardless, but I have A (Tri) so shouldn't I be bale to ride any power level?
Piaggio's website I think is plain wrong, maybe even illegal, as it says you can ride their 500 on a car licence. Which after 3DLD is wrong a new car licence holders get no A(tri) entitlement. |

You could ask the DVLA. I'm just citing what the law says.
The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 -
“A1 motor tricycle” means a motor tricycle with a power not exceeding 15 kilowatts;
However, existing (pre 3DLD) tricycle entitlement from B (car) licenses should be grandfathered in, according to gov.uk.

Your previous theory pass is good for 2 years.

That's my understanding. Caveat emptor, I expect. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I believe that if you got category B (car) before January 19th 2013 then you can continue to 'drive' any trike that you want, regardless of whether or when you ever got any explicit A entitlement.
That's a personal belief though, I'd verify it with the DVLA before committing to anything. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
