Well after 5-6years of riding in all weathers the ice got me and my little cg this morning, bike has slightly bent handle bars and my muffs have a few friction holes, Im okay but bloody sore in shoulder arm and back now, prolly get worse by morning.
Happened coming towards the mini roundabout at the bottom of higher lane, water runs off field and must have froze due to lack of grit. Luckily cars behind had slowed as I heard them skidding when I went down. Paint attached. Will remove bars and straighten tonight.

Check your steering stops on the frame and bottom yoke, these tend to be a little weak on the CG.

Glad you're OK. What kit were you wearing? How did it hold up?

Slightly bent bike can be fixed Thumbs Up

Having a spill = pain in the arse or in your case shoulder, but no real harm done Thumbs Up

Hi
Bike fine, tiny scuff bout 1cm on end of exhaust and a tiny scuff on headlight and clock, hardly noticeable, scraped footpeg rubber. Bars are bent about 2 inches back on one side, in the vice tonight Very Happy Forks are straight and look fine Muffs will be repaired with gaffer tape, just a few small rips.
Weise XBlade 2 covered in ice and dirt no rips or damage I can see along with the RST Rift pants but they are 5 years old and falling apart anyway, hemet has no marks or scuffs so should be ok.
Bike went down on its right side and I went off and over the left lol.
Pushed it to the bottom of the hill and it fired up after 2-3 turns, will be a bit strange riding home tonight with bent bars .

Ohh maan, that's worse than a twisted subframe, it's scrap im afraid. Sad

Seriously though, I figured CG's came stock with scraped footpegs minimum.

New bars ordered OEM from Honda £45, pattern parts were £28-35 and I think I would have to drill locating holes myself.
Will get them Saturday and be back on the road Monday Very Happy , Gritters have been out were the ice was, wonder if I can claim damages Shocked .
Suppose I will put it to experience.

glad you are OK

s'pose it's an advantage having the CG, cheap to fix, hard to really damage expensively. (compared to large plastic shrouded bike)
