Lately my Speedfight has been cutting out on full throttle, Once it cuts out it starts back up fine. I've been having a look around google and seems like it could be a Jet problem/Mixture problem.

Does anyone have any guides on the right settings for the carb, Also anyone no what the standard jet size is? i currently have a sports exhaust on i've been told i should increase jet size by 10% is this correct?

Deffo sounds like the main jet if it bogs at full throttle

If you didn't upjet when you fitted the exhaust then yes upjet 10%

If that doesn't cure it then try a new plug and maybe a high performance coil

Start small and work your way up

I would check the vaccum feed to the fuel tap for cracks and leaks & test the tap operation, check the fuel line for blockages.

I'd check the fuel tank breather....and if after all of this checking out diddn't do anything I'd drain the fuel suspecting water contamination (put it in a clear container and let it settle to see)

If the plug is gammon'd then it'll not run at all. It'll just crank forever.

High performance coil? Factory ignition seems fine untill you're edging towards the 15hp mark on a 50cc bike, given the work required to get a 100 speedfight to that point, IMO a waste...

Unless its a seriously tuned pipe you can usually just adjust the mixture.

Nope, the mixture screw only adjusts the fuelling at tickover to maybe quarter throttle at best. You need to actually pull the carb apart and swap the main jet over to really adjust the fuelling as that affects a scooter between 1/4 throttle and full throttle, and a scoot you're mashed flat out all the time.

You are right however about the air filter. Piaggio 50cc engines go from requiring a 72 main with a sports exhaust to requiring a 115 main with a fancy air filter Laughing
