handy throwaway meter to have on a bike
but I'd suggest buying one that takes banana leads for the workshop
something like this
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VC97-3999-Auto-Range-Digital-Multimeter-Voltmeter-Tester-All-Function-AC-DC-OHM-/111487591451?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19f52da41b

That and cheap lead set like this would probably do most folk
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1Set-Multifunction-Digital-Multimeter-Probe-Test-Leads-Alligator-Clip-Test-Kit-/261560037546?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3ce63170aa

would make it very useful

Course, if money's not a problem you can spend a shit load
of cash on 'pro' stuff.

Arrived, comes with a battery, but LIES, ALL LIES, no continuity test, audible or otherwise. Bizarrely, it does have a transistor tester.

Good enough for testing battery voltage and whether you have live or not.

LOOKS identical to the one I have used for years - continuity test is simply to use the Ohms scale.

I ordered a pair, one for the garage one for home. I too was stunned that they came with batteries. Excellent, very happy.

Fair point. I likes my beeps though, means you don't have to look at three things at once.

Can't argue with the price though.

For continuity, select the 'Diode' symbol at the 5 o'clock position, outlined in red.

I like an audible tone for continuity too - so I made a simple tester from This Circuit for a couple of bob Smile

There's a noticeable difference in the tone, between a good connection and a slightly duff one.
