Going to have a look at it tomorrow
Its done 17k and got a cracked exhaust |
hi,
i presume your the same guy who posted pretty much same, on 125cc forum?
if you are, here my reply, copied & pasted for quickness.
btw,in this forum (& a few others) you may hear references to a NSR guru who goes by the name of Alains. listen to him. he knows.
yes, 2002 is the last model made, more commonly known as the "foxeye"
firstly, why buy a nsr with plastics missing? they can be hard to find & expensive to replace.(& looks sh*te without them imho)
the exhaust? so the one thats fitted is blowing, right? so lets presume its f*cked. hes giving you a replacement exhaust? a COMPLETE system? (with mount/flange, fittings etc) what kind of exhaust? a standard heavy as f*ck honda standard (maybe restricted) exhaust or something else better? (anything else would be better tbh)
why hasnt HE fitted it?
i hope you are getting it really cheap, like £500 or less. i would have thought a 09 ybr would be worth more than 3/4 of a NSR125.
a 2 stroke bike with a blowing exhaust, is pretty much unrideable. the exhaust system (or at least the expansion chamber part) is probably the most important part of the bike (after the engine & carb)
have you ever owned a 2 stroke?
the nsr is a great wee bike, only let down by its budget suspension & brakes, but is certainly a "better" 1st 2 stroke "race type" 125 than the aprilia rs or cagiva mito, simply because its got a stronger engine, more reliable electrics & doesnt need as much maintenance but isnt quite as powerful.
oh, & wheres the bloody pics? cant tell you much without pics & the 1st few characters of the VIN no.
if you tell us the number on the V5 or on headstock minus the serial no. (last 6 numbers) we can tell you more, such as what restrictions to look for etc.
cheers,
