Always a good idea to clean the caliper out though. I usually do them beginning of winter, half way through winter and then beginning of summer.
Brake fluid change every 2 years, I do mine pretty much every year, not a hard or expensive job. ____________________ Previously owned: Kawasaki KH125, Suzuki GP125, Suzuki GX 125, Honda CB125 TDC '83, Honda ntv 600, Kawasaki ER5, Kawasaki ZZR600, Aprilia RSV 1000 Mille

Try taking the sharp edges off the friction material on both pads, by filing a small chamfer all the way round.
Also clean-up any rough spots around the edges of the pad back plates, where they make contact with the caliper - and use copper grease where the backs of the pads make contact with the pistons. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)
