I'm curious what you guys have on your handle bar when you make longer trips.

I am guessing you got a GPS and maybe a SPOT?

So far I only have my GPS on there so it's pretty empty.
I'm thinking about getting a SPOT device. But maybe it would be better to wear it on my body since one might land somewhere different than the bike coming off.

A spot is a satellite tracking device - it uploads your location to their servers via satellite (i.e. no mobile coverage needed) on a regular basis, allowing you to be tracked pretty much anywhere in the world (with the exception of some polar regions, IIRC). It also has an SOS feature so you can call for help without mobile coverage.
I know people who use them for solo long distance trips, and also where they are doing some kind of challenge (charity or otherwise) where people want to be able to see where they are on the web.

That is also why I want to be using the SPOT device. I will be riding solo long distances so I want to be sure somebody will pick up my corpses.
They will actually launch a search & rescue mission pretty much all over the world if you send an SOS. Helicopter and all that. Or simply an ambulance when you are on the road. Ore you can send an assistance request which just goes out to pre set contacts which you can use when you just need non emergency situations. Plus you can track your routes and send update messages home with an interval with your location. Though some of these features cost extra. The only down side is that you have to but a subscription which isn't cheap (at least 100quid) but it's worth it for me because to a certain degree it simply gives me piece of mind, knowing that I can get help.

I fitted a motherfucking casio digital to mine. This means I always know what the time and date is. Waterproof to 50 metres!

I like how it's not just flapping around. It's got it's own proper mount. You really put some work into this and made it work.
