Not sure if this has been posted before, In the US but the methods are going to be somewhat similar in the UK.
The idea of removing the clutch lever is interesting suggestion to make it harder for a thief to ride off with a bike.

He actually seems like a smart and pretty decent guy.
Oh, I'd still burn him, but quickly, not a slow roast. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I haven't read most of it and skimmed what I have been through however this caught me eye

Personally, if it's rashed up, looks cosmetically rough, but mechanically sound. Say grips are worn, been dropped on both sides, but the chain is clean and well-adjusted, tires worn hard on the edges, has any signs of safety-wiring for the track etc. It's lack of value isn't what I'm looking it. It would remind me of myself once upon a time. I think that's probably all he's got, his whole world, it's not pretty, but he rides the piss out of it. He gets a pass.

my bike is safe, it look far to rough for any one to bother with ____________________ Current rides - 2016 Triumph Street Triple Rx, 1994 Suzuki Bandit 400 VM, TGB 204 Classic 125cc

I'd venture to suggest that you were reading a post by a quite exceptional thief, and that the vast majority of bike blaggers don't think about anything other than their immediate or imminent gratification.
They're geezers. They'll nick anything. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
