Hi,
I bought an rs125 2006 15k miles restricted about a month ago, started having problems a week ago, was doing about 50mph and it lost all power and cut out when I stopped, I tried starting it for 5 mins and it finally started, it has since done it 3-4 times more, at random times eg. Sometimes 2 mins into ride, sometimes 20 mins, its got a new plug, I cleaned the carb and still no luck but did notice a small spring in the carb broken? Also it has been idling strangely lately, sometimes 3k and sometimes 6k when I first start it? It was idling fine prior to this and I've not messed with the speed, do these have an auto choke as we'll or could the choke be sticking causing it to cut out because it was spluttering yesterday before it cut out. Any ideas? Cheers

It's the HT coil. As it gets hot it fails. When it cools down it starts to work again.

What does the bust spring look like? Any photos?

It's the size of a pen spring, looks like it connects to choke cable, not sure if it was broken or I broke it as was brittle and rusted

So ive just rid it and it's very loud and spluttering and I've noticed a hole in the exhaust, could this be why it's cutting out? Also can I ride it in the meantime? Cheers

It may run badly with a hole in the exhuast, but it will generally run.

It's not heat seizing, is it? You won'T be able to kick it over at all until it cools down.
