Can anyone tell me where am I best advertising my ER6n? 1 Owner, first registered Sep 2008.

Autotrader?
MCN?
Ebay?
Gumtree?

Also, I'm not too sure how much I should be listing it for.

The bike has 24K, it has a full service history, last service about 1000 ago.

Pretty much stock, apart from engine bars/hugger & screen.

It's been used as a commute, always garaged and never dropped.

It's not in pristine nick, but it's not bad, the engine bars could do with repainting and maybe some of the side engine covering.

Other sellers are around the £2K mark, but I sort of think that is taking the pxxs and is too high, but I don't want to sell to cheap.

Any advice appreciated.

Why not place it in the ads section on here, with some pics of course. Thumbs Up

Personally, I'd try the obvious and cheapest adverts first, like ebay, gumtree or BCF. Then see how it fairs on them.

Ebay for quick sale I reckon. Gumtree where I live is a waste of time, too many foreign billionaires trying to pay by western union and having their slaves pick up the bike.

Price it high enough so you can haggle down to a decent price that you're happy with, but not too high that punters lose interest before even contacting you.

Also give it a good wash and make it shine before taking pics, makes all the difference when trying to stand out of the crowd.

I use these prices as a first approximation:

https://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/index.jsp?guide=prices&page=used_bikes&no=2&make=Kawasaki&bikeid=1018&yearplate=2008%2F08&x=56&y=10

Private Good: £1,980

Everyone thinks their bike is in "good" condition. Wink

Hi,

I don't really need a quick sale, I am going to get another bike, but I am in no rush, so i'd wait for offers etc and go for the best one.

Anyway,

Here it is

https://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/mondeokid/bike7_zpsnzbp73lw.jpg

https://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/mondeokid/bike6_zps9aydnzek.jpg

https://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/mondeokid/bike3_zpsfzjjjlew.jpg

So if £2K for good, Should I go for say £1800.

I will put on here.

And then gumtree.

Then i'm not too sure. I don't want to give it away on ebay.

What about Autotrader?

I don't even bother looking, it's all dealer bikes. £40+ for private ads, that's an eBay and a 2 week Gumtree ad.

Genuine question, how many bikes have you sold that way and for how much?

On eBay, I'd consider anything other than a bloke standing by the bike offering a wodge of fifties to be a TIEM WASTAR!!!!¬!

Errr, only one bike that had an engine and that must have been about £3k.

I've sold sold four pricey push bikes from 99p no reserve auctions and plenty of expensive computer parts.

I have some idea of what I expect or hope things might sell for but other than that it's just a case of what happens in the final hours / minutes / seconds of bidding. Pass the popcorn

I bought my '56 ER-6F a little over two years ago and paid £1700 with only 16K on it, private sale. That included power commander, kwak top box and rack and other stuff. The ER-6 in general doesn't seem to command a price. They aren't bad bikes, there is just nothing special about them.

And Ste, I do exactly that. Only once has it bitten me, but even then not by much. I generally find, 99p start generates more interest, but you do have to brave it out.
