Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa vs Supercorsa for dry roads

Opinions please? I'm about to buy tyres today.

I ride only in nice weather and usually for a minimum 2 hour blast. Will Supercorsas heat up fairly quickly on the road or would it be better to get Rosso Corsas?

If you're even contemplating Supercorsas, just get scrubs. I just Trumpet Tyres on Facebook but a good set of SC2s will last ages, loads of people sell them for £100-120 a pop.

Might struggle to find scrubs in a 190 for the rear though. 180s and 200s aplenty on fleabay.

Shouldn't be a problem to find scrubs that will fit his bike.

I'd go for the Rosso if buying for the road, but supercorsas have decent grip from cold and warm up fast.

I wouldn't want to be consistently testing the limits of either on the road.

Scrubbed Supercorsas are cheap enough, bought two set off Gumtree for £35 each which was cheap. Friends and family get them off some guy and they pay £50 a pair typically.

Edit : for a GSXR 600 , just realised you ride a Blade, maybe a they'll be more since it's a bigger rear? I'm not really sure. Can't imagine them being more than £60/70 a pair max though, check gumtree

Is there any benefit to having a racetec over an m7/m5 tyre on the road? For road riding I cannot see the point of a racetec.

(Using Metzler because I don't know the Pirelli example)

I don't know where the m7/m5 comes, but don't see any decent advantage for the Supercorsa over the next step down road tyre - well, apart from that you can get them as 'scrubs', which is much cheaper.

Had the supercorsa and changed to Dunlop Sportsmart Sportmax would highly recommend for dry and wet.

If I get 2-3k out of the rear tyre I'll be happy.

I don't need wet grip, only dry grip.

I don't want to worry about heat cycles and I want them to warm up quickly, so road tyres rather than track tyres.

Supercorsas warm up quickly anyway generally.
3k on a litre bike sounds very hopeful for them, however; unless you ride it at 500 commuter speeds maybe.

If I'm paying £50 a set, I don't mind the short life.

In my experience Supercorsa's will give you about 1-1.5K of 'good' performance even if they last 2k, the best being the 500 miles after you scrub them. They need to be pushed pretty much all the time to keep them up to temp on the road (in average temperatures, not like today) even the SP.
Rosso Corsa's are more consistent, are not affected by heat cycles as much and have enough grip for anyone bar a racer. Having said that if you get more than 3k out of one you are riding like a pussy.

I'm committed now I fancy more dry weather focused tyres but still for the road. I hope both the Supercorsas SP and Rosso Corsas do just that.
