 |
|
For the last couple of rides there has been a quite unpleasant clunking sound on my ER6. It sounds like something is rattling, and the bike sounds a fair amount louder than it should...
Anyway, after investigating today it appears that my downpipes and end can have split quite neatly. There is a small gap but they have definitely come apart and at certain speeds the gap is larger.
I have attached a dodgy picture, I am hoping that exhaust paste can be used to bridge the gap and seal the two ends. What do you think?
A whole new exhaust system looks bloody expensive!!

Use a Sapporo beer tin. They are made of steel. It's a nice beer too.
Has to be ice cold though.
But you'll need aviation snips or a grinder to cut that fucker into a patch.
But the shape of the can lends itself well to what you want to do as well if you look at the ribs down the sides.
I wouldn't be surprised if a skillful welder could weld it as well.

Mine went about 2 years ago. I wrapped exhaust bandage around it and put 2 new clips on. Still there now. ____________________ My fingers smell of your mum. |
