Yup. If your plugs are hard to get at then iridium makes sense as they (ostensibly) last longer. If you've got easy access, I'd just slap an NGK in and keep it cleaned and gapped. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Iridium plugs are better by design and materials, they can cost up to 4 times the price of standard plugs. But are they worth it ?
Long life:
My worry here is that they could be installed for 10 years or more (e.g. 2500 miles per year would keep them within manufacturer's life expectancy blurb), my main concern would be 'fit & forget' and find them fubar seized when you 'have' to remove them.
Less Maintenance: Yes
Reliability: Yes
Improved Performance: Personally I cannot tell the difference.
If you are happy with the costs then go Iridium, but I would not fit and forget, ever
P. S. I do use both (not on same bike). |

I use an iridium on my 2t MZ, it never fouls up even if I under-gear it like crap at slower city speeds. Just gradually roll on the throttle and everything is happy. There is absolutely no performance difference, but at least when the bike stalls or w/e I can pretty much rule out spark plug foul immediately.
Not used it on a 4t, but I can imagine that I might use them if the spark plugs on a bike were particularly poor to access or the rings were particularly worn and I didn't want to open it up yet. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11
