KAWASAKI ZR550

KAWASAKI ZR550. Just bought a 1995 model and the only thing wrong is the fuel gauge shows bang empty... Yes, I have filled it up... Any known problems or ideas please?

Sensor unplugged? If it's like a GPZ, it should be under the right hand side of the tank and easy to check.


Maybe the float level thing inside the tank has seized?

Check it under the tank, on the right hand side there should be the lid of the float contraption with a wire connected to it.

I bet my money on damaged wiring, rather than the gauge/float its self. To take the tank off, you need to disconnect the wiring under the tank, so that's quite a common issue there.
