I'm starting a new job in October and planning to take a week off in between jobs.

Any tips on a good tour? Five - six days probably. I'm not weather shy but some sunshine would be nice!

I'd love to pop over to Morocco but having driven around a couple of times I'm not sure my cbr will cope with some of the roads, and also I've just bought a Rider 40 with the Western Europe maps and I fancy making use out of it!

Thinking Spain maybe, Portugal?

A week is shit with what you are thinking. OK its not far but you are a few hours away from the tunnel, then hanging around to get on choo choo and get through France. You are now wasting a day before Spain and another day to get down south. Now OK you can hammer down slightly quicker but you are talking two days to get down to the likes of Lisbon and two days back. You are now left with three days of your holiday. Spending all day every day on the bike is not a tour. It quickly turns an enjoyable way of transport into a chore. Stick to the north of France or head to the Mosel Valley or Black Forrest where you dont spend all day riding. 300 miles max is a relaxing tour. I dont care what people say when they will wave at "I did 600 a day no problem" or whatever. Truth be told it was not enjoyable. I an in Cochem at the start of October if you fancy a beer. Thumbs Up

A good short trip is to head over to Bastogne, then hit the back road (not the N84) twisties of northern Luxembourg via Lac Haute-Sur over to Vianden. Then pop over to Monschau. Just great.

Ferry to France. Take the twisty roads via Alps and Pyrenees to Spain. Ferry back from Spain.
Or Scotland. Up one side, ferry to Orkney. Back down the other side.

I also have a week off in October (first week commencing 5th plus the weekend before). After looking at where is realistic to get to at a holiday pace, I've booked the Hull-Zeebugge ferry and will be heading down to the south of Germany and Austria. Apparently it's quite dry that time of year. We'll see...

Dont hold your breath on dry. She it was not a week before. I am at a great bike rally in Holland the Friday Saturday before your holiday starts.
