Tubed to tubeless tire, new valve required

Hi Guys,

I'm changing the tires over as they are really old and apparently I need a different valve on my back wheel as it is currently tubed.

Could somebody please point me in the direction of a tubeless valve. My bike is a yamaha ybr125 2009. Would something like this be sufficient?

Are those wheels spoked? Did it come with tube tyres? If so, keep on using the tubes, the rims won't hold the air in.

Well, there is a possibility, they did put tubeless rims on the motorcycle, yet kept using tubes. But why would they do that?

If in need of valves, check with your local tyre shop/garage. They usually sell those.

Well the front wheel is defiantely not tubed, the guy that owned the bike before me did a load of BS work to it and didnt really look after it so it wouldnt surprise me if he just ripped the valve off and put a tube in the old tire. I dunno.

I havent changed the wheels or anything, I know it's not a great picture but I'm full of cold and can't be bothered going outside to take another. This is the picture from when I bought it if it helps.

If the wheel isn't capable of holding a tubeless tire could I just have a new inner tube put in under the new tire?

That should be fine and those valves should be fine.

If you're paying someone to put the tyre in, they'll probably have them anyway, so worth checking.

I put some in recently and found an appropriate 'drift' poked through the back of the valve so it was pressing against the inner section with some washing up liquid 'lube' around the body got it nicely.

Looking at the pictures I can see no reason, why those wheels wouldn't work with tubeless tyres. Go ahead.

From my experience, every motorcycle wheel I have ever seen, that was designed to use tubeless tyres, had the word ''Tubeless'' written/engraved somewhere on the wheel.
