I's not that bad the tail but I will tail tidy it, black screen and maybe one of those see through clutch covers, I like them.

Exhaust is a killer though, £1,800 starting prices, some of the Akra systems are £2,600 and looking at near £4k for a full system. Haven't even decided on exhausts.

I have 'talked' to Senior Austin about a system for a bike.

Haahahaa...

About £2k+ And I fit it myself too.
For possible 5% HP increase.
It gets rid of some weight looses the exhaust flaperry and looks the bollocks poking out the modified belly plate though.
Plan for the winter perchance.

You have a sweet looking biatch there though as it sits.
Seriously considered one last season but what I have ticks all the same boxes the Pani does too.

Congrats on your nice very red thoroughbred bike purchase! Smile

But I would say shame it's not a mint 999R instead, as that was the last good looking Ducati litre class bike.

While we're talking capacity though, is 1299 now legal tender for WSB/ BSB racing? I thought that the decent capacity advantage for the Twins had been scrapped (unfairly) forever?

Or has Ducati just gone 1300cc for the road to willy wave against BMW HP4's etc?

I'm getting a lot of bang for buck for the bike but £4k for a full Akra system? Never had a full system on a bike before, only bolt ons and I like LOUD bikes, my R1 has Toce brothers quad slash cans on it, stupendously loud.

I would probably go with the Austin Racing exhaust for loudness Thumbs Up

That is just awesome. Makes me want to go out and just go for the baby panigale.

Best looking bike set imho, good buy. You'll definitely want to get a good set of crash bungs on there ASAP as those fairings are just mental if you drop.

Ahh, we got our R1's around the same time, didn't we? How's yours holding up?

Mate, I've had non stop issues with the clutch.

Day 1 - Clutch was strange, progressively got worse until after 2 months they grudgingly replaced it after threatening Yamaha UK with legal action that they sold me a bike with a dodgy clutch.

Then about 2 months ago, I had to replace it again, so clutch number 3!

I do wheelie the bike allot but my ZX10R I had for 3 years and it never skipped a beat.

Just time for a change, had it since April 2014 when I bought it new and wanted something else, always wanted a Ducati.

OP, keep us up to date on how it goes, I'm planning to buy a new bike at the tail end of the year and I'm currently deciding between one of these and an RSV4. The looks of the Ducati though, it's just amazing.

On the 1199 and 899 they mount to the clutch cover and the shock cover iirc. From what I heard on the Ducati boards they're virtually useless in a drop - they're basically secondary footpegs.

Will do matey, those photos are from some guy on ebay which is an identical bike.

I will have mine by Wed / Thurs at the latest, maybe sooner, depending on how quickly they get it ready.

Will take a load of photos on the DSLR when I get it.

Yea we got them at the same time, no real issues apart from the indicator lenses being brittle and falling off, i'm trying to claim against the warranty for replacements... chances.

Other than that the bike has been spot on, you keeping the R1 or is it going?
