As in the title.

I have the hard drive off my old laptop and put it in a caddy to take the important data off, now done.

However my previous computer had divided it into 3 partitions which show up as 3 separate drives when plugged into my new computer.

How do I return it to one big drive?

Thanks in advance.

Control panel - administrative tools - computer management - disk administrator/disk management. Find your drive in the list and delete the partitions.

Command prompt > diskpart > list disk > select disk (number from those listed, CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE) > clean > quit

All done! Use that method all the time for re-using disks from random os's after they've spewed a random partition table on them.

Disk Management won't always remove certain partitions, the above is fast and works.

Will only work with regular partitioned disks, disks used in vmware and a mac have caused me grief before. Also its the same on all windows versions, whereas finding (and opening) disk management can be a chore.
