Looks easy enough to dismantle, a couple of split pins and a spanner?
I'd be looking into that one myself I think, nowt to lose.

This looks like a pretty similar set up.

Pull it apart.
Remove the 'Gland' and rusty piston assembly. Clean off as much rust as you can.
The piston will probably be held onto the rod but a nut on the end or a big screw in the end of the piston rod.
Remove the piston and then emery cloth/wet and dry the feck out of the rusty rod.
It will never be perfek but it will work as well as before.
As long as the piston seal is good.
Some 'jack' pistons use leather cup type seals which can be fragile so take care on assembly.
Re-assemble and fill with fresh hydraulic oil. (You could use ATF).

Just clean the shaft with a strip of rough emery, put it back in and give it a whack or two. Re-fit spring and pedal.

Ahh, I see it's too late for that. You could have rolled the emery into a rope and pulled it through the spring, been done in a few minutes.

Excellent photos Sir.
They are too good for this forum as I can actually make out what I'm looking at. Smile

Those sort of things are 'usually' made from 'nominal' size/diameter bar stock. (i.e. 5mm 10mm 1/4" 1/2" as opposed to a custom 'turned-down' in a lathe sort of a size.)
If you get stuck for spares, you 'may' be able to cut the shoulder of a long-enough bolt to length and drill the pin hole to suit. If you're stuck.

Cheers..it's 11mm, what's that? 7/16 ja? Blimey, who uses imperial nowadays, where could it have been made..the US?

7/16" 'long shoulder' bolt

It says it's grade 8.8 which you can easily drill with normal HSS drill bits.

If you have an engineer's near I'm sure they'd easily spin one off for a few quid.

I don't think that has a piston on the bottom of the rod I think it's a very basic pump.
And is just a rod with a pin hole in one end.
The rod looks as like it will pull out the the barrel in the direction of the bursted hole.
There will be a gland seal in the end where the rod sticks out.
It probably has no piston seal either and just relies on the displacement of the rod going in and out of the 'barrel'.
It's a very low pressure jack system.

Could always message the seller expressing your interest in the jack but you'd like to know if spares are readily available. Wink

Cut the end off, clean with emery, punch out the ram, clan with emery some more, replace the ram, weld a big nut on it sideways. Re-fit to jack, pin goes through hole in nut. 15 minutes work.
