The only reason they need proof of insurance is to tax the bike. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

The easiest way is to get quotes online with comparethemarket etc, using all the correct details including the actual registration of the bike. Take the quote reference with you to the dealer. If you buy the bike, the phone call to arrange the cover will be super quick. If the dealer wants proof of insurance just put the phone on speaker. ____________________ Current bike: K1100RS. What's VED got to do with them? They're not the keeper, and if they were, the change of keeper to you would cancel it.
Agreed with the "give me the keys if you want your money". I've done it with a car back in the posty-certificates days when the insurer was being tardy, although I did pen the dealer a nice letter accepting responsibility for the car and absolving them of their sins, pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem.
It shouldn't even be an issue now though. Prep the insurance online; activate; tax online; ride. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

To be honest I think the dealers are reliable comparing other ebay sellers. I haven't walked into their shop yet.
I am selling the cbf125 to my girlfriend lodger he is feeling a bit down and we could have some nice rides.
Soooo how much do you think I should pay for this bike?
I wanted something between a winter commuter and a nice bike I can feel proud to have as first big big bike.

Looks VERY nice. But if you commute on it through the winter it will need much maintenance and plenty of luck if it's not going to be tatty by April. Would it make more sense to get something a bit scruffier from a private seller for a lot less money? Perhaps with a full fairing so you don't have to clean cack out of all the engine crevices? (There's no right answer to this question, I'm just playing devil's advocate.) ____________________ Current bike: K1100RS. Perfectly reasonable choice. Price isn't bad for a dealer bike with that mileage.
Any explicit warranty, or just your statutory rights?
Tyre tread is visible but I can't really tell the depth.
First MOT was due on September 1st and hasn't been done. Presumably they've had it in since before then, so they don't have buyers queuing up. If they tell you that they do, then they're bloody liars, but then again... dealer.
Assume that any MOT they put on it means nothing and give it a good going over, but at that mileage you shouldn't expect to find much wrong.
No reasons that I can see not to have it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Oi, grandad, we're on the decimal system now, put your jar of farthings away.
3 years old, barely run in, ABS, presumably a full year's MOT on sale, dealer "warranty". Sure, try and chisel a bit more off, but where would you get more for less? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
