Oh yes thats right its 25bhp, 33bhp is my goal. How can i get the engine running at 25bhp as it sits original? Just change the exhaust?
I have the original gamma not the fun. Its a late one k plate ive read these were not restricted for some reason. The exhaust wasnt restricted on a k plate. I dont know ____________________ I don't snore. I dream I'm a motorcycle.

hi,
uk gammas dont have the power-valve installed & it will be near impossible to find the parts to fit 1.
its standard practice to have the pv chamber filled by shoving a blanking pipe into it (length of steel)
in reality the pv doesnt give much power gains anyway, but it makes the bike a bit more rideable at lower revs, it sort of smooths it out a bit between power-bands..
biggest gain is had by fitting a decent exhaust. I can recommend micron or allspeed...if you can find 1 (I have a nice, nickel plated...iirc, micron in the garage along with 3/4 of a 1986 gamma)
you could try going a little bit bigger in the carb or fit a flat slide carb, these give quite good results.
last thing is getting the cylinder fettled by a respected tuner, though this is likely to make it unrideable below 8000rpm but give you a couple of more ponies.
not much else you can do to up the power, but 20-odd bhp on such a small, light bike with shocking brakes is more than enough.
should see you to around a genuine 90mph (over 100 on clocks)
cheers,
GAZ
edit : should have said, the gamma is 1 of the few 2t's I have had, that responds well to an open air filter.
usually stock air-boxes are best but the 1 in the gamma is very restrictive.
fit a conical mesh filter & enjoy the noise |
