Don't really have a problem as such at the moment but I can foresee some coming.

Recently I have purchased a set of hand guards for my dirtbike for some wind protection over winter, but on fitting them they cover the indicators, so I was thinking of getting a new set of indicators but found this on ebay instead:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Strips-LED-amber-indicator-marker-lights-leds-3-SMD-x2-/151312572882?hash=item233aeea1d2:m:mn3u8Coqgtu_J-k6aEXE50g

Would they just wire up to my existing wires for the orignal indicators? Or would I need to get something else too because they are LEDs?

And my second issue is (without riding the bike with the hand guards fitted) am I likely to notice any issues with the bar end weights removed? I never realised that they weighed such a considerable weight before I removed them to fit the hand guards - which have a plastic inside where the original weights went.

And if so, is there anything that you can think of that would add addition weight to them?

If you leave the old indicators spliced in they will provide the necessary resistance to make them flash at a normal rate.

Or you could just change the indicator relay which is a £3 jobbie if you use a car one. Most are a three pin design.

Removing weights will cause additional vibration through the bars. Even IL4 and twins which are supposed to cancel out the vibrations by firing order get vibes through the bars. The Kawaka Z750 I tried had awful vibes. Since you said dirt bike which makes me think big single or twin. It'll make it vibe a lot.

Nothing stops you from fitting the weights on the outside of the hand covers.

£5 for a suitable relay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRO-12V-FLASHER-2-PINS-RELAY-BLUE-FOR-MOTORCYCLE-MOTORBIKE-LED-INDICATORS-Z035-/170873685070?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160

Filling the bars with silicone sealant apparently helps with vibes. Bit of hose on the end of the nozzle, start spurting in the middle and work outwards.
