Hi there,

Yamaha WR125X

So , just got back in from a great ride with a friend. The bike was fine, started every time (Maybe with a little hesitation) and ran fine. Got it into the garage, was letting it cool down and it just turned off.. went to turn it back on just to make sure it was alright and no sound or anything when I press the start button.

I have lights, dash led display works and all the check lights come on and go off as should. Just no starter noise and nothing on button press. It was fine, now its broken.

Any help would be really appreciated. Thinking the starter but not where to start of checking that.

Thanks
Steve

Kill Switch in Off position.

Bike in Gear or rather, the interlock switch of side stand is dirty/faulty and making 'in-gear' signal to the starter system.

Battery fooked or battery connections loose/dirty.

Not imposibru for a fault to just happen as-if-by-magic. It is a reason why stuff needs continuous maintenance.

I've left it in the garage and am out now. But I think your spot on with the kill switch.. defo thinks its in neutral and that would explain why it killed itself for no reason also. Will keep you posted, thank you sir!

I came home, stopped. waiting for the garage door to open. Once open i rode it in. Sat on it for about 10 seconds just letting it tick over(for no real reason) and it just cut out. Stopped running. Gone. It was in neutral with the stand up.

"It was running and cut out" I never readed post fully. Embarassed

Hopefully it's not an overheating issue.

Or low fuel.

But check the switches first and then worry about the more difficult stuff.

Don't just let it idle for no reason.

Idling can/will...
Drain the battery
Foul the plugs
Overheat the bike.
