 |
|
I've been searching for some CE certified level 2 jacket recently, and seeing the prices I was about to give up. Is really ALDI going to offer this bargain?
I know this is old, but I may still be able to get something.

Does anyone used it? I read some reviews, and it seems really really really good. |

The aldi gear is cheap, but it also performs better than expected.
I've had the same pair of Aldi boots for the past year and they are still going strong. |

This seems unreal. The minimum price for a L2 jacket I found is from Scott Leather, and is about 270£
Furygan does something good, but the cheapest are not weatherproof, and all the other cost a kidney. I'll go to Aldi tomorrow probably |

I guarantee that they're just a branding of some other sweatshop togs, the question is which ones and where can they be had at the moment.
Bear in mind that just because other clothes don't make EN claims doesn't mean that they won't work as well. It only means that they haven't been certified, which might just imply that they don't think it's worth paying to do so. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

OK, go on then, show me the proof. |
Fair catch, guarantee has no monetary value.

It's economical for Aldi to specify and buy just one short run of those garments?
Having put in the development work, the manufacturer won't sell the exact same gear to the next retailer that rocks up asking for a CE2 garment?
Seems improbable. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

You're raining on my cynicism man, that's really harshing my Buzz Killington.
In my flopping, apathetic defence, we did in years past spot that some of the Lidl-lids were rebadged models. Not that there's anything wrong with that, they were 3* SHARP rated. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

A few years ago I read an article on a company that wanted some item making, they went to the far east (cant remember where) paid all the design costs, machine set up costs and ordered 10,000 items.
Not long after they got a bill for 20,000 items, they wouldn't pay and just took the original 10,000 they wanted, they found out later the other 10,000 were sold off a lot cheaper and ended up on the market at much the same price they had paid for theirs, which hit their profit margin very hard.
This was commonplace a few years ago, perhaps it still is. Once your set up costs are paid you can make many more items much cheaper.
Perhaps this is how Aldi get their items, I know that I bought a fishing bag from there, great product for £10, lasted a good few years.
And identical to my mates 'name' brand bag that he paid £30 for. |
