SJcam SJ4000, cheap, comes with all the mounting options you could ever not need, 1080p in reasonable quality. Removable battery so if the battery goes to shite you can easily replace (and spares are cheap as chips).
Be sure to get a genuine SJcam one not a knock off.

Well, it's not a "fake", as it doesn't claim to be an SJCAM.
| Vincent wrote: | Why is it better to have it on your helmet rather than the bike? Less jolting? |
Yes, and you're more likely to be looking at whomever mashes you up.

As long as the advert claims that it's an SJCAM. Some of them even say "Not SJCAM", which really sods up searching for them. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

What about a mobius? They are diddy and do a waterproof enclosure.
Also aackable so you can move the lens away from the camera body and hook it into the vehicle electrics. They can be made into a dashcam: https://youtu.be/9qx5fgy8f28
It occurred to me that the camera body would probably fit inside a helmet between the padding like you do with an intercom speaker and you could mount the optics on the chinbar or through a modified air vent. The tricky bit would be waterproofing it once you'd done so. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I think I'd be wanting to do the capacitor hack and jack it into the bike electrics.
Something about having a lithium battery strapped to the side of my head on a fast moving vehicle that doesn't appeal. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Just because you don't look like a complete too with a box hanging of the side of your skull
However it is useless after the sun is gone!

Has anyone tried the Innovv C3 ? The camera bit is on a lead so a bit more options for discreet mounting and not looking a bit of a knob.
There's 90 or 120 degree camera options but I don't know which you'd want? ____________________ Honda CB500S |

I'd disrecommend the Drift Stealth 2. Video quality is OK, but it fogs up, the battery/sockets cover is fiddly, the battery indicator is about as accurate as a motorcycle fuel gauge, it takes ages to charge and the battery life isn't all that. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Teh borgster - w/ his scripted random av. shenanigans and sundry other internet savvy ways. Yet you've kind of owned him there. That's gotta feel good. ; - ) |
I thought it would go without saying that this would elide any listing containing the word "not" anywhere, like "not fake", but apparently it didn't.
SJ4000 -"not sjcam"
or
SJ4000 "genuine sjcam"
The problem remains that geezers selling knock-offs on eBay aren't exactly famous for their honesty.
| Caddy wrote: | Shame about the stealth 2 issues, I'd been looking at that due to its more compact dimensions. |
Don't get me wrong, it's OK as a camera. I just don't think that the product quality is worth twice what a (genuine) SJCAM costs.
OK, the aftersales seems pretty good, but you could literally buy two SJ4000s instead and put one in drawer. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I'm still using an old Roadhawk Ride. Getting a bit long in tooth now, 720p, very few options and rubbish battery life in cold weather: ~30min (compared to ~80min on warm day). But, it's nice a dinky and perfect for helmet mounting.
There is an updated version - anyone tried it? ____________________ Beginner Biker Adventures Blog
