Hi, my bike uses a 12V system, the headlight is rated 12v/35w.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2PCS-125W-Motorcycle-Motorbike-CREE-U5-LED-Driving-Head-Spot-Light-Headlight-UK-/181895352831?hash=item2a59ced1ff:g:BHQAAOSwI-BWMDuH

Can I add these, also woukd I just splice them into the headlight wires? Im asking this as I ride 30 miles to work and 30 back, half of this is on dark roads with no lights and my lights are not the brightest even with "xenon" bulbs and some other bulb recomended here. Thanks in advance.

You didn't say what bike, I assume its a small one? Try these

https://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffybulbs.htm

I suspect the ones you are looking at might fry your electrics due to overload

Might be easier

Those lamps are only actually 15 Watts, so won't fry your electrics - they just claim that the output is similar to 125 Watts of conventional bulb.

The correct way to wire them though, would be through a 'Normally Open' relay, using a separate switch and fuse.

I fit ''Philips X-treme Vision +130%'' bulbs and they are a big improvement to standard bulbs.

You just swap them out for your normal bulbs.

Presuming they are XP-L U5s, should be reasonably bright, certainly for the power-draw.

How have you found the lifespan thus far?

I was going to get some but read elsewhere that they didn't last long at all, especially considering i always have my headlight on

I have a 9000 lumen torch which is about 3 times the out put of these spots. While walking along country lanes cars confuse me walking for a car coming the other way.

It runs of 4 3.2 volt batteries in parallel with each battery able to deliver 2.5ah. I would think that most bikes would be with the small current that cree leds consume

I've only had them a few weeks so can't say. My bikes the same the headlight is always on there is no off switch.

How long have people been saying they last? One thing you need to be careful with is not to touch the bulb with your skin. Use some thin gloves or a tissue to handle them. The chemicals in your skin can react with the bulb apparently.

I've got a pair of those , they have 3 modes (High,Low,Strobe) which you cycle between by turning them on or off, they default to high when you first turn them on/power has been off for about 2 mins.

They are pretty well made but mine are not totally waterproof as the gland that seals the cable on the rear of them doesn't seal on the small cable but a blob of silicone will sort that.

They are very bright and give some good usable light depending on where you have them mounted/angled. I've had to mask the top of the lenses on mine with electrical tape as they were dazzling and I got flashed a lot with them on.
