Hello, could all or anyone please let me know how to change the tail lights on my bike. Not the bulbs but the whole assy. I'm putting in the LED brighter ones.
Its my first bike, yes I'm 40! My mod1 is in 2 weeks. What I know about bikes you can write on a match stick. Its a 2010 model with ABS. Its just took me an hour to change the front side lights!!!
Do I have to take every thing off or is it a simple task.
As a side note its got two panniers and a back box, will it look better if I leave these off.

Appreciated for any help.

I tried an LED tail lamp - incorporated the brake light too, and had a cut out in the lens to also do the number plate.

It was rubbish, stopped working for no apparent reason and i binned it.

This is the new type that's e stamped. It's plug n play. No cut out as reg plate is positioned lower. What year was your CBF? Can you remember how you changed it? For clicking mad I can't even find how you take them off just to change for another set, nether mind LEDs.

Thanks

If your planning to do the Indicators, they will need to incorporate a resistor otherwise it's all aboard the strobe train Dance!
Otherwise it's fairly self explanatory, plenty of guides on Youtube no doubt.
If you do buy a cheap kit, expect to repair it every other Monday.

Thanks. It cost just over a hundred, is not that cheap is it? Also ready ordered a resistor. I'm a LED nut in so I converted all my vans even with extra spotters! Search YT hi and low, also trawled the interweb and found zilch. Going crack on with it one bolt at a time and see how far I get before the eureka moment happens.

Job done.
Panniers off
Back box off
Back seat off
Plastic cover with seat lock off
Side fairings running under seat off
Four self tapper screws holding cluster off
Unplug cluster
Then reverse for reassembly
New cluster has indicator resistors within so no need to fit extras.
I have HISS so indicators had to be connected to flash when activated.
30 minutes to change.
