Hi all,
Need a new chain and sprockets for my Yamaha YBR125, 2008 model. I'm based near central London, so names of shops and online shops are appreciated. What would be the average price I'd be paying for these parts? And how hard is it a job to do alone?

Much appreciated

Yamaha OEM O ring chain & sprockets about £110 Needs riveting

Did HD Chain non O ring & JTS Sprockets about £50 Split link

Make sure chain is HD, will say on box., I got about 12k on non o ring chain.

Easy to change, but be careful of rear sprocket carrier bolts, made of cheese, I torqued to correct amount and 2 sheared, replaced with proper steel bolts. Split link goes on one way, make sure its right.

If you have all the tools incluiding a riveter it isn't difficult but will take you a good few hours if it's your first time.

If you have a few hours all the tools a haynes manual and a garage try it.

If you have no tools no haynes and no garage (working against the elements on a bike in the middle of November makes it twice as hard). Take it to a garage.

I have all tools, manual and I can hire a garage space. Its just budgeting that's a problem as I am a Uni student and need to save as much money as possible till January. This job, however, is essential otherwise I'll lose more money on the buses etc.

I wouldn't go to wemoto for parts. I've had a lot of bad experiences because of them like, getting sent 3 discs brakes for my bike (wr 125x) and all of them being poorly made or the wrong one. and there prices are way to high. I mean the discs brake i got from them cost me £170 and then when i went to the garage to get one it cost me £40. Even the garage said that wemoto is just scamming people for money.
