Bad Bulb. There is an in-built fuse in bulbs which should fail to protect from overheating fire etc..
There may be a short-circuit between the terminals of the bulb cuase by rust/corrosion.
Electrics on most vehicles uses a loop from the + post of the battery to the - post. This is a circuit.
The power normally goes from + to the switch then to the Bulb (consumer) through the bulb to '- (ground) which is normally a metal frame. It then passes through the metal frame to the - Post of the battery which is connected to the frame by a short cable.
You might need t get a hold of a multimeter. They're not too expensive and can save hours of heartache and provide a lifetime of fun.
Open the lamp and remove the bulb. Clean the connections in the bulb holder. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |
