I have noticed that allot of people are asking questions on how to do this and that, and they are receiving lots of different answers on how to solve problems.

Then that is the last you here of the person that asked the original question. Was the problem solved? How did you solve it in the end?

Just an idea ( and tell me if i am talking bollox ) but why don't we all post the outcome of our Tinkering at the end of the post?

That will help other people with a similar or same problem to go to the correct solution first without wasting their time trying all the solutions people have posted on the thread.

Sooooooo if you post a question......let us know how you got on with the advice.

Shocked just an idea Shocked

Cheers Thumbs Up

Please read smallprint...
Yes I know it should be in the sugestions forum .... but you wouldn't have read it then ....would you? Mr. Green

(what do you think???)

I'm up for coding a solutions database if everyone wants to submit them to an external site so other people can search.

If people are asking a questions PLEASE PUT ALL THE SYMTOMS DOWN, not just the ones you want us to know about!

It is a regular thing for some-one to "forgett" about some-thing they did to their bike/ mate did before it started playing up, with-out all the info you cannot get a proper diagnosis.
It would be good to know if the problem has been sorted, a small post saying sorted is all it takes.

I agree that it's a good idea. I plan to do just that with my post when I finally get around to following the advise that I was given. Embarassed

Because if the info given works obviosly the info given is correct. Rolling Eyes Most replies are given by people who know what they are talking about, and if people can't see that they shouldn't be even thinking about trying to fix things.
It also saves multiple posts on the same problem saving looking through loads of threads.

BTW.... Why did you rate 4 posts as 'Off Topic' on the same thread? BUMP'ing the thread reminds people to post replies on how they fixed a problem, like this....

This was solved

and this

help given here

Another..

Thanks to everyone who takes time to let us all know how your problems go and to those who BUMP this thread. Thumbs Up

A lot of the 'help wanted' posts are people who stumble across this place looking on Google for a solution to their problem. So they sign up, put up a post, and we never hear from them again.

Not always. Paint advice is a prime example where people who actually get paid to do this are drowned out by backyard bodge artists & rattlecan maestros.
For every post with the correct advice there are 6 or 7 others telling the victim a load of utter bollocks. .. & owing to the 6 or 7 wrong answers the victim usually follows them down the path to a bucket of poo.
