Hi, i have a bit of a situation here. First of all i will state that the engine is not the one that is registered to the bike so all parts have to be ordered by the engine number, the engine number matches to a 2001- CG125M1 .

So what happened is the big end bearing needs replacing so i stripped it down myself and ordered a con rod kit going by the model which the engine is from ,I then took just the con rod kit and the crankshaft to a bike garage to have them split it and put the new bearing in. However i have now been informed that the con rod i have supplied is 2mm too short so i dont know how im going to be able to find the correct one. I dont even know if the one i supplied is the correct length and that it had a different one in before since i dont really know much about the history of the bike , any help would be much appreciated.

Have a look at this site:-

https://www.mitaka.co.uk/ROAD_CON_RODS.htm

It lists various con rods, with dimensions, it shows there are 2 different length Cg125 con rods, 103.5mm and 105.5mm!

Return the one you bought and order one of the correct length!

right, if only i had seen this reply a bit sooner but what i have gone for instead is i have now bought a xr125 bottom end off ebay which had a good big end and main bearings, also the little end takes the same size gudgeon pin which my piston takes so i was going to put my top end onto that

Well, at least you have the correct one now!

Can you get a refund on the new one you bought?

Isn't the XR125 an OHC engine, where the CG is OHV?

The XL is OHC, the recent Xr125's have CG engines!
