Poor start

Hi folks
Need help for my 2010 busa
7500 miles on clock
After taking it out for a spin,When I go to start up,It sounds like I've a flat battery even when battery showing 12.60 volts
If I get a jump start,It fires up straight away
The battery has only covered 1000 miles so think I can rule that out
Any ideas please?

Is the starter motor turning it over? Or is it just clicking when you try to start?

is the battery a 1000 mile old this month
or was it a 1000 mile old when it was put away last year?
how often is it ridden?
you say it wont start after a ride,did it start ok from cold?
does it live in a garage on a charger?
has it got an alarm that could be draining it?
if it sounds like you have a flat battery then usually it is a flat battery.
the important bit is why is it flat.

Only 7500 miles that is a state of affairs I would change. Take it for a good thrashing to the coast then try it the next day.

What does the voltage drop to when you press the start button?

Volts and available cranking amps aren't necessarily the same thing.

As above, looks like the bike does just over 1,000 miles a year. You could land up needing a new battery every year at that rate depending on how it's stored.

Check the terminals on the battery and solenoid are tight and free from corrosion.
