push bike speedo.......

as anyone ever fitted a push bike speedo on there motorbikes. im just wanting one that will read ok up to 30mph 40mph and possibly 50mph anything above them speeds il guess and take my chance I once bought a vapor clock for my fireblade and had nothing but problems so cant c the point in spending so much again. advice much appreciated

Not fitted one, but any of the big brands should be OK to those speeds as long as you can mount the magnet close enough to the sensor (yes, I've done 50mph on a push bike fairly regularly). Wireless may be problematic in the electrically noisy environment of a bike, and constant illumination at night is an uncommon feature if that matters to you.

Why would you want to? What's up with the bike speedo? If in doubt, wouldn't it be easier and more accurate to use a GPS?

First off; get a wired one.

My Cat's eye one was fine up to triple digits (at Snetterton, of course!) on my zx9.
The cheap Tesco one started to go to a half and a third speed as the pace upped on my CCM404e - If you were moving at a reasonable pace and it said 25mph, you knew you had to double it, so it wasn't TOO bad.

And yes- you could consider sticking a phone on there and using the dash. Did that on the CCM for a while (well, was a proper bike GPS, but that was some time ago.)

I'm not sure about this, but if you want one for an full MOT, it may need a backlight

I used Cateye Velo ones on push bikes a few years ago and they always lost it above 29mph and went to zero. Something to do with the strength of the magnet / sensor.

Have used my garmin GPS and found it more accurate than the inbuilt speedo on my YBR125 and SV650.
