The way I have to get my bike out in the morning is wheel the front wheel out of the back door an then physically lift the back wheel around a corner....sounds complicated an it is - an Bandit's aint known to be light

Anyways this morning lifting the bike an its clunked when i lifted it, sounds stupid but it was like a mechanical clunk.

Should i be worried?

Was thinking its possibly just the rear shock/ swingarm dropping down?

will get it on the track stand tonight

Paddock stand isn't any good for sussing if the arse end is loose.

You need to jack the thing up or if fitted, put it on the centre stand, so that the rear wheel is in the air. Try and lift the rear wheel and see if there is any free play.

Do you notice the back squirming under power? That's how I noticed my Linkage bearings were shagged.

It ain't a cheap job either, as said you need the arse off the ground to see where the movement s.

funny you should mention the squirming thing, on the way home yesterday going around a corner it felt like it had a soft tyre, like it wanted to turn different.

Checked pressure this morning an they are a-ok

Shocked

will go an have a look at the caliper an stuff now

cheers all Thumbs Up

Wheel bearing starting to go? You can and should check that on a paddock stand...

Is the spindle/axle nut tight, or is it just the adjusters keeping it in place? Shocked

sorry to dig this back up but its happening again.

noticed it today both under power an under braking - feels weird like a flat tyre

Was on paddocks last night wheel bearings seem ok

chain is a-ok aswell

I dont have a centre stand, but went ghetto an lifted the bike on the side stand an everything "seems" ok....will try an figure out how to lift the bike without a stand

basically could it only be swing arm bearings, wheel bearings ?

Buy an abba stand or similar make any work on the bike much easier.

Solidly get the rear end up and unloaded and have a wiggle, it will be obvious what is shagged.

Get the bike up on side stand and axle stand under right hand footrest hanger so the rear wheel is off the ground.

Get a long bar, broom handle or similar. Use it under the back wheel to try and lift it. If there is any play in the rear linkages you will see and hear it straight away. By moving it up and down you should also see which linkage is shot.
