Can anyone recommend a good mobile mechanic or good garage in the Bracknell area (or close surrounding areas), my car is playing up big time and i need to get it sorted. Not really sure whats wrong with it but someone said it could possibly be the head gasket.
Not sure if a ford garage would be more expensive.
Many thanks
Em

What exactly is the problem with the car that makes you think its the head gasket that is gone?
Do you have oil/scum in the radiator or do you have what looks like mayonnaise in the rocker box (lift the oil filler cap and look inside)
If you have either of these things then your head gasket could have gone, the best thing to do is get a compression check done to see if there is a lower compression on one or more cylinders.
Hope this helps

It was a friend that suggested it, he is a truck mechanic.
She doesnt always have much power in her through the lower gears, she goes ok from 70+ but below that she is spluttering and bunny hopping around. We are losing water and we dont know where, she is overheating. When idle the revs go up and down sometimes.
Im not mechanically minded so i havent got a clue.

You say that you are loosing water, is there a puddle under the car when you go to pull away?
If you don't have a puddle under the car you may have the head gasket gone on a water way, with it not liking to pull away very well it could be into the inlet manifold.
check to see if you have any water coming out the exhaust pipe and check the rocker box filler cap for mayonnaise,
these are all signs of a possible blown head gasket.
