Hi people, first posting, please follow the link https://youtu.be/kob0ZYUlSGs
You may wish to use headphones if the volume on your PC is a bit iffy. I get a squealing noise on acceleration. At the beginning of the clip it is just audible, but further into the clip as I accelerate it's quite obvious. Particularly when you see me filtering up to a set of lights. Its been into a certain dealership twice, whose name I wont reveal, but they claim not to be able to hear anything. The customer services co-ordinator at your caring sharing Yamaha UK was as much use as a chocolate handbag, and the Vice Pres. of Yamaha Motors UK didn't bother responding to my email. So much for customer service. Anyhow, back to this damn noise. If anybody can identify where this noise is coming from I'd appreciate it. I've other clips available which may make it easier to hear if they're required, its driving me round the bend. Rolling Eyes

I can hear it fine. Right at the beginning as I pull away from the r/about with the black Corsa on my right, and further into the clip. Really need to listen when I am going slow and then accelerating. Try the whole ciip its unmissable.

How quiet is that bike? Is it like the quietest and thus most pointless air cooled twin ever?

I can hear the squealing and it sounds bad. Like squeaky trolley wheel bad.

Check it's not part kf tbe airbox whistling, by old xv did similar when the o-ring on the air filter failed, but the design was totally different with the airbox forming the frame over the engine.

would I be correct in thinking it is belt drive?

If it is you need to check you swing arm bearings asap
I had a similar issue and found the belt hadn't been tension-ed properly so it ate the rear sprocket and destroyed the belt side bearing
