the plan is to wire in some indicators to a 25 year old dirt bike but this is what i fail to understand... behind the headlight i have an earth wire, and one single wire for each of the front indicators. with indicators having two wires each, i can't see how i can connect any up. wiring to my knowlege is original....

on the rear its the same wiring but without the earth, orange wire left indicator, blue for the right

i really dont know much about electrics and in all the how to videos on youtube, none of the bikes used have this wiring. so please lay it out for me in layman's Wink

cheers

For the front both indicators share the earth, that is why it has two 'holes' for bullet connectors, then one wire for each side.

Rear. One wire to each indicator then find an earth point on the frame and connect a wire to it that then feeds the earth on the indicators.

You might also find that the tail/brake light ground connector has room for the rear indicator grounds.

Black should be the earth, but if you really wanted us to help you might want to tell us the make and model of the bike. Just sayin'.

Just try it both ways. It's an indicator and isn't going to explode or break. It will light up or it won't. Switch wires round if latter.

Honestly?

You are seriously out of your depth. Black has been earth since forever.

Go read. then read some more.

If it's a lamp based indicator then it doesn't matter a fig which way round you wire it. Traditionally though, the wire that connects to the centre pin is wired to the feed and the wire that connects to the shell of the lamp is wired to earth. Thumbs Up
