I have some new handlebar grips. They're metal with rubber sections on them designed to cushion your fingers. These rubber bits go through to the underside of the grip itself.
Just wondering how best to install them so I can remove them without damage in the future. If I use super glue I run the risk of gluing the bottom of these rubber sections to the bar causing them to tear on removal.
Thought about wrapping a lot of electrical tape around the bars and jamming the grips on that way?

Rigid grips generally need gluing. Rubber ones that have to be stretched over the bar will stay put if you fit them with hairspray

Removal of grips is often a destructive process anyway.

Superglue is likely to break away clean. It not being all that super as glues go.

If you do try hairspray then give the bars and insides of the grips a good clean with something solvent based. A bit of grease and it won't stick.

A squirt of brake cleaner / isopropyl alcohol lubes it up for insertion Shocked

Then when you've done it evaporates - if the grips rubber is tight enough you may not need glue.

If you have hairspray but no IPA or brake cleaner to hand then have a word with yourself Laughing
