Could someone tell me the best way to check the oil level for my shaft drive on an '86 Suzuki GS650?

Which type of oil would I use to top up or change? Thumbs Up

I think they have a level plug. I.e. undo the plug and fill it till it comes out.

Right, so with the bike absolutely upright, that's the level...
How would you change it completely?

Pull drain plug at bottom leave draining a little to flush replace drain plug over fill and allow to drain to level (bike upright )

Used to be 90 oil these days 75/90 a better choice

I assume there is a drain plug. Dunno if this is the same bike.

I'd say 29 is the drain plug and 27 is the fill level. Check this though I ain't certain, I have not worked on one of these. Can't see where you would fill it though...

A couple of hundred CC never worried how much over fill allow to drain to level

The on line DB I use Is pro and paid for

I expect the on line free stuff for a bike this old google is you friend but takes time

Yes Hypoid (SP) 80 in winter 90 in summer just use 90 or better still modern 75/90
