Hi all
Looking for recommendations for which bike to buy.
I have a full license and have previously only ridden a cg125 and a zxr400. I didn't like the zxr due to the forward riding position.
I am quite short 5'5 and inside leg is 28/29 inch, also don't have the strongest upper body!
I'm looking for a bike 250-650cc which is upright, light and easy for a beginner. Ideally get one foot flat.
I have done some research and considering the following g models, but want to narrow it down a bit more, so would like any advice on the following. I like the idea of a twin engine rather than inline four.
-inazuma 250; modern, looks good, under 2k
-gs500; bit old but twin and easy for beginner?
-gpz500; old but narrow and fun
-Bonneville; low seat
-sv650/gladius; easy for beginner but not sure I like the looks
-xj6; boring but reliable?
-er6; felt a bit big when I sat on one
I have ruled out:
-hornet, fazer, bandit; inline fours
-er5,cb500; don't like the looks
Thanks for any recommendations, as I said the key is something light and low to sit on and easy to ride. Not bothered about speed, be happy with a 250s performance I think.
Thanks |

Although i see youve already ruled out the bandit, i recently passed my test and was looking for my first big bike, my dad had a bandit spare and said it would be ideal to get used to, im short aswell at 5ft7, but he managed to lower the back spring so i can just about put both feet on the floor. Also the ride position isnt too far forward, makes it a comfy ride for me anyhow. Id go sit on a few and see how you feel on them, i guess everyone will be better matched to different bikes. Just my two pennieth worth ____________________ Nsr 125 1990 - written off

If you're in Olney, I'm not far away. You're welcome to sit on my CBR600F. I'm an oompa loompa too at 5ft 6
It's one of the more upright sports bikes, I also have 20mm bar risers to increase that further.
Don't rule out inline fours ____________________ CBR600 F3 FV
