System spec is as follows:
i7-5820K (6 core Haswell-E)
MSI X99a SLI PLUS motherboard
64GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 (8x8GB sticks)
Main GPU: GTX960 2GB
Alternate GPU: cheap G210
Storage: 7.2TB in total, all SATA
WD Red 6TB
WD Blue 1TB
Crucial BX100 250GB SSD
Fractal Design Define R5 Black Pearl case
Be Quiet Pure Power L8 530W PSU
Arctic Freezer i30 CPU cooler (keeps the CPU cool with the 140W TDP)
2x AOC i2369VM 23" HDMI/DisplayPort 1080p monitors
Duronic DM352 dual monitor stand (clamps onto a standard desk, swivels etc).
Mechanical keyboard, cheap-ish Anker wireless mouse.
I have billions of cables kicking around (HDMI/DP/VGA/DVI/kettle leads/etc etc), no worries there.
Basically the only part of the machine that isn't near top-end is the GPU. That's all you'd need to replace for 4K. 1080p is spot on and enough for me. It plays everything I've thrown at it on high settings, but I used it predominantly for software dev (running many VMs simultaneously, big in-RAM data sets, Bitcoin, etc).
OS is your prerogative, I can stick W7 or linux distro of choice on there if that helps.
New you're looking at 1600 based on my research.
Willing to sell the lot for 1400 ono, delivery and installation included within a reasonable distance of London.
Parts will be sold seperately if there's no interest, keep an eye out if you're after anything. It's all in top condition, only used on a wooden floor and rarely. |
What are you basing the £1600 quid "new" value on?
back in June, that rig could be bought for under £1500 brand spankers.
Scroll to the bottom and cheap the price history.

IMO, a used rig of that spec would be worth a grand at most. |

Nah, GPU was for gaming and to get 5 outputs. It also works for QEMU passthrough (which the cheap G210 didn't).
I don't mine Bitcoin. It's been ASIC or go home for what, three, four years now? |
So why mention bitcoin in the list of things you use it for? |

You'd need more than just a second GPU if you want to run a big multi monitor array. |

I'd be interested in it if the price was more realistic.
You should get quite a bit more selling it in parts than you will selling it as a complete PC and as such I don't think you'll be willing to sell it at a realistic price for what it's worth as a complete PC. |

WRT the 20% thing it's component based, use a bit of common sense.
I've seen used CPU's for ~5% off retail price and personally I'd buy them. As far as I'm concerned that's a free tenner. I've never had a CPU die.
I don't expect the HDD to go for anywhere near retail - I might end up just keeping it and buying a caddy.
Keyboard similarly, I might just keep it as a spare.
To be frank the reason I didn't just stick it on eBay/gumtree/whatever initially is because I'll have to accurately price each item rather than taking offers.
Then again I've probably spent more time on this thread replying to you plonkers than it would have taken to just put the auctions up. |
That's like selling a bike based on how much you can break it for CPU's hold their value (and no £10 off wouldn't tempt me in the slightest), GPU's for example don't.
You came here to flog your system and got upset when everyone said it was overpriced. Go list it on gumtree and wait for all the low offers/swap for a staffie and broken moped offers. You'll be wanting us plonkers back |

The RAM and the CPU will go for good money.
The PSU, the case and the motherboard will sell easily but not for particularly amazing prices.
Based on your reactions in this thread, you'll be offended by the prices the rest of it will go for.
List on gumtree and you'll be really offended.
Local facebook groups are good because you can sell for a lower price than you can on eBay but still end up with more in your pocket than you would after eBay & Paypal fees plus people like seeing stuff for themselves before handing any money over which makes for a very straight forward sale.

Old Thread Alert!
The last post was made 9 years, 129 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful? |
