 |
|
So I sold an old bike to a work colleague and it was recently stolen, with the following setup...
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/GaIAAOSw14xWMgYr/s-l300.jpg
Oddly with the less than formidable chain, they attacked the ground anchor with an angle grinder ...to steal a rusty 1998 CG 125
So my chain and lock game is up to scratch, and whilst it wasn't my first thought before, I'm now looking to up my anchor game...
Am I best off with a rigid beast like the Double Doofer? or something that will bounce around more like the Torc Ground Anchor? ____________________ The above post is most likely nonsensical.

If somone is desperate enough to steal a rusty cg125 that has been chained up, they deserve it imo
Neither. Removable ground anchors are removable. Quite easily removable. Dig a hole, concrete in. |

i love the look of the Yanchor and as a bonus with no chain in it, its flush with the floor... not like most anchors that you trip over lol
The bigger version with a 19mm chain would be a good deterrent
I got Anchor, chain and lock from Almax.
i have a reinforced door with 5 lever mortice, and 2 more Squire locks from Almax, Then a 7 foot gate at side of house with another lock.
And you need to pass 3x CCTV to get to the garage (Only 1 way in) which has movement sensors on that alerts my phone by SMS and Email (with picture)
im 6'4 and 18 stone.... i fear for any thief i catch in my undies in the cold at 3am, i dont think i would be very happy lol
How ironic will it be though after all my security, if my bike gets nicked parked outside a shop or similar :/ ____________________ You know you are old when you're told to slow down by your doctor and not the police. |

A nice deep hole, filled to the brim, with a double ended thingy sunk deep. Y anchor in concrete with an Almax. Top of anchor is level with the grass. |

Interesting, could easily carry 2.6kg, the larger linked chains 10kg+ I cannot recommend carrying though.
That being said, the lock fitted appears to be almost as weak as a Kensington style laptop tether, and not one of the later models, the earlier ones you could pick with a sliced cardboard tube. ____________________ The above post is most likely nonsensical.
