Being shaft drive will reduce your chances.
There may be ways to do it though, my (gone) BT1100 had cast wheels and similar looking drive set up. Or some other donor ideally Yamaha, XV750 has cast wheels too I think?
Is it really worth it, might be better to trade in as near standard bike once you get over the cruiser phase |

Don't like wheels with tubes in.
Thanks in advance. |
Answer is the perennial; if you have the money, almost anything is possible, whether it's worth the money is another matter.
Rim form for tubless tyres is shallower than for tubed tyres; so you can fit a tubless tyre to a tubed rim, it's just a bastard to get over the rim! And if you have wire spoke wheels, it probably wont hold air without a tube in it.
There are a couple of designs of wirespoke rim for tubless tyres that will take a tubless without tube; they are more common on dirt bikes and adventure sports, and you may struggle to get the rim sizes you want, whilst issue of matching them to your hubs may exist depending on the spoke plan.
Last time I had a wire-spoke re-rimmed for my trials bike, (conventional tubed rim) I think it cost me about £200 for new rim, spoke-set, build and true. It's not a cheap game; and to do both wheels, you are likely looking at around £500 and up to get wheels built around your hubs to take tubless rims.
Possible cheapskates using wheels from another bike, you might get 2nd hand? It's a Yammie and they tend to be pretty good on parts compatability between models, but it's also a shaftie.... which limit's things some-what.
Bottom line then... how much is not having tubes worth to you?
End of the day, the little viagra is a lightweight cruiser, with only 40bhp, it's never going to exactly 'burn rubber'; the tubed tyres it has as stock are more than 'adequete' for the performance it has and, for what it is, a useful cruisr-style commuter twin, it's likely that tyre stability and handling has always been compromised by fit of harder compound, high mileage 'ecconomy' tyres anyway.
Difference between tubed and tubless is practically likely to be negligible, other than in cost, and the cost of repair should you get a puncture.
Having tubed tyres on that bike isn't something that would unduly bother me too much.
So back to the beginning; most things is possible with enough money; how much is it really worth to you? ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

Save your money, buy a spare tube, tyre levers and recovery.
They'll take you home or somewhere that will fix it. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |
