Hi Everyone:

The air filter foam element on my H100A is holed and falling to bits.

I have bought some replacement air filter foam. However, it measures 20mm thick. It is quite thicker than the original, old element.

Will the new thick foam be ok to use?

My only thought is that with it being thicker it could mess up the running of the engine (air/ fuel mix)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's about how much air flows through it rather than thickness. A more open 'weave' will allow more air through so you may have a weaker mixture.

How does the density of the new foam compare to the old?

Just a thought, the new foam is filter stuff as opposed to furniture foam?

The air filter on my H100a was crumbly too...bought some generic filter foam off ebay which wasn't as thick as that...maybe 15mm but certainly thicker than the original that was in there.

Had no running issues at all.

Don't forget to oil it (dunk it in oil then squeeze out the excess)
