I'm setting up a VPN, it connects but I can't get network/internet access.

I've set it up on a machine running Windows Server 2012.

I've installed the role and service.

I've set the user accounts to allow dial in.

I've opened port 1723 on my server and forwarded the port firewall to my server (static ip).

I set my phone to log into the VPN and it connects successfully. But I have not local/internet access.

I'm guessing I've overlooked something, I thinking I've set up a VPN to the server and I need to forward the connection to the local network.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers,
Chris

usually routing or dns, try reaching something external via IP, should narrow it down

Is what ever your using to "tunnel in" with, getting an IP address?

Usual the VPN server will have an allocated list of IPs to give out to VPN clients.

have a look in DHCP to see if you can spot your phone

Is the VPN software on your phone able to report back any configs etc? or is it simply a username, password and host setup?

Just because you are connected to server side doesn't mean you have an IP.

I would look there first.

Then its routing/ possibly what permissions on server side

checked this?
