Pretty certain that unless your textiles are Goretex ... they will leak.
Maybe not now, maybe now tomorrow ... but one day, when you least suspect it
https://images.cryhavok.org/d/19005-1/Soon.jpg
Your best bet is an over-jacket style thing.
It's a pain having to carry it around & you have to preempt the weather. However they are cheaper than replacing a set of riding kit (jacket & trousers)
Although I've heard good things about the RST blade textiles, I will be replacing my old Ghost motorbike textiles with those soon |

You don't need goretex to be waterproof, not even a bit.
People get wrapped up about it and it is brilliant, but wellies and condoms are not made of Goretex and they are pretty waterproof, or so I have been told.
What makes Goretex pretty much unique is being fully (at least initially) waterproof, and being able to 'breath'. Being able to breath means they can feel cooler, an alternative to which is buy a thinner pair of trousers, or ride faster, equally good options.
Personally I wear a pair of hood kevlar jeans and I have an all in one wet suit thing that wraps up inside of itself into a bag, that goes on the rear seat, so if and whenever I need it, I just have to pull over and, well, pull it over. Works great, doesn't let any water through, only costs a tenner, and means you can get much better value for money on your kit IMO. (for instance compare the quality of a £170 goretex pair of trousers and a non goretex pair for the same price). Just make sure you go a size up, they will say they come up big already, and you will try it on in the shop, and it will fit, but trying to get it on at night in the cold and wet is a much bigger challenge, that is helped by the extra size. |

Pocketses.
Or rather, pocketses flapses. Fine for walking. Riding into rain, not so much, since they face forwards. You can try wearing them backwards, but I'd find something without gaping gashes. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Contact Adhesivses.
I agree though, I had almost forgotten it was a huge problem for me until the 5 minute fix.
I've been alternating 2 glued up pairs every day it rains for years. ____________________ The above post is most likely nonsensical.

I use these over normal Kevlar jeans etc. No pocket flaps to seal up, ankle zips for going over boots. £8, so disposable when they eventually go on you.
