Probably not the right section, sorry

Last week my friends cbf 125 was stolen in the Swansea area, police where informed but are useless.

We have been looking for it most nights but expected it to have been parted, until last Thursday when his dad sees the bike with two scumbags riding it, a third wheeling a freshly stolen 250 down the road desperately trying to kick it over. This is just outside his house in the brynmill area so after a phone call he comes running out, all three hop on his cbf leaving the 250 at the side of the road. Police are called at this point but take half an hour to show themselfs.

His dad gives chase, losing them at a red but later finds them cutting the lock on a trails bike along the sea front, he hits the cbf knocking of the rider and gets out of the car however the scum manage to free the bike from between his car and another and get away again. And again police are nowhere to be seen.

Weve seen these boys around constitution hill scouting out more bikes on a stolen Yamaha since but every time we notify the police there either dont bother or take ages to turn up.

frustrating

Have you tried mentioning one of them had something that looked like a gun?

I suggested this after I read a thread about someone whose shed was being broken into, my friend seems to think we would get into trouble ourselves tho?

These boys are easy to find if you spend long enough waiting by a parked bike, they seem to go out a few nights a week and check them all. Thinking of just taking a wrench and sorting them out

Stage your own sting operation? I know the frustration you feel at the fuzz being seemingly useless, but bike theft isn't high on their agenda. My R1 was nicked from London and they did sweet F all.

I'm sure a few sting operations to catch the gangs would work, maybe they have a lockup of 100s of motorcycles somewhere.

Yours sounds more like delinquent kids though.

Problem is that if you only find them at night, the PCSOs and satisfaction survey brigade will have sodded off, leaving a skeleton response cover who are rushing to emergencies like Gwyneth texting that Cerys is a slag, look you.

They'll need an authorised pursuit driver, and may have a no-pursuit policy regarding bikes anyway.

I'd suggest that you go down to the cop shop in person, or get in contact with your local community coppers 9-5 and see if they're actually bothered about it.

If not, well, if you drive into and euthanise them you can always claim that your tyres were mismatched or you had your mobile on your lap.

If all else fails, there's the JIM-O-MATICtm

In a report of person(s) killed riding a stolen motorcycle my only concern would be if there was damage to the motorcycle.

any way of wiring the battery to a lock so that they get a bit of a shock when faffing with it.

"oh dear, I knew I should have looked into that electrical problem officer"

I presume you've been filming and photographing them, have some nice HD mug shots and a huge stack of evidence you can drop off down the police station, the local paper (they'll love a story on a crime wave epidemic and streets too dangerous to walk), any neighbourhood watch schemes and send to your MP.

Failing that, leave some bikes as bait, all with no working brakes. Once they've got them started, chase them until they reach a suitable speed to eradicate themselves from the gene pool...

In the last thread we had like this, someone suggested a shaped explosive charge which would sever the legs of anyone riding away a stolen bike.

I thought it was a great idea but unfortunately, Dragon's Den never got back to him Sad

Police me arse. Hunt them down and destroy their kneecaps and hands with a big lump hammer. Surprisingly seems to cure virtually all thieving bastards.

Leave a couple of bait bikes parked in a quiet area in the locality, back the bikes in the spot next to each other so the numberplates are facing a wall or other obstruction that prevents scrotes from seeing them.

Battery operated driveway alarms x 2, rigged up and hidden from view watching over the bikes. You need a bunch of bikers, mates and / or family all dressed in black, gloves and balaclavas waiting round the corner / in a van / at someones house round the corner, etc use your imagination. Take it in turns to keep watch and listen out for the chimes of the driveway alarms going off. Make sure you test them first so they do chime in your hiding place when someone approaches the bikes.

If / when chimes go off, quietly head towards bikes mob handed and tooled up suitably. Quick check that the people near the bikes are scrotes trying to steal them, not a random drunk, dog walker or passer by. If they are the scrotes run in, grab em and give em a good kicking, but not to death.

Leave scrotes on floor in quite some pain and with smashed up / stamped on mobiles. Quickly shift bikes while scrotes are incapacitated. Return home and dispose of cheap black primark / Sports Direct clothing, gloves, balaclavas and footwear.

NB

No one buys their cheap clothes ety for the job online, or pays for them with a credit / debit card. Nothing is arranged online, via telephone or mobile. No one has their mobile in their pocket while waiting for scrotes to show up. Everyone has an alibi for their whereabouts on the night in question. Oh and don't forget to remove and dispose of the battery operated driveway alarms. Wink

Could you follow them without them spotting you? It would be handy to know where they lived.

99% police are reluctant to give chase when the offender is on a motorcycle, due to the risk of the offender crashing.

Even if its not insured, seeing the bike in bits is much more desirable than seeing it in the hands of a thief.

Yeah but Swansea has only had one bike stolen in 4 years. That's not bad.
