Jump starting

Hi can anyone explain to me how to jump start a bike directly to the starter motor please.

Ok just to let you know, the bike has no battery and has problems with the wiring so won't start off the button.

Is the fault that it won't turn over?

How would you know if there is/isn't a fault in the wiring stopping it running if you get it to turn over.

PLUS, if you do get it to turn over on the starter motor, where is the power coming from to keep it running with no battery?

At this point I'm not trying to start the engine but to just turn it over.

However i understand your point now I've thought about it and I can see that my next step to start checking for sparks, won't work.

Feeling a little bit stupid now.

By the way, you can bump start a bike by running alongside it in 1st with the clutch pulled in, then dump the clutch and twist the throttle at the time time.
Depending on how heavy the bike is, you can do this whilst sat and pushing with your feet, or get a mate to push you.
WARNING: On my ER5 when I had to do this, I wasn't prepared and the bike jolted forward quicker than I anticipated. I pulled my shoulder and was out of action for a few weeks.
